Soft Shackle for Port Towing 

Made from 32MM HMPE Rope. Single MBL 1384kN, Double MBL 2768kN, Triple MBL 4152kN

Our soft shackle is long enough to be installed with 3 windings (triple), in such configuration it will be around 70CM long. If installed as double (2 windings) or single (1 winding) it will be of course longer.  

Breaking load of soft shackle construction will depend on bending radius and alignment of sub-ropes. If soft shackle is installed on item smaller than 10 x diameter of rope used to make shackle - we can face reduction of breaking load. Reduction percentage will depend also on other factors and bench test of whole system is highly recommended to check real life conditions of connection. During our tests on rope to rope connection we faced reductions around 25%, therefore increasing safety factor is recommended. During PIN-PIN test or shackle installed on low friction ring – reductions are way less severe.
