Basic Knots - Instructions
Below please find simple photos illustrating ways in which the knots are tied.
Please remember that knots are weakening the ropes, in some cases the reduction might be 60% or higher. Where breaking load is priority consider purchasing a spliced rope.
Bowline Knot:
Usage: Making a fixed loop at the end of a rope. It is easy to untie after being subjected to a load.
Angler's Loop:
Usage: Forming a fixed loop on a fine or slippery line.
Alpine Butterfly Knot:
Usage: Secure loop in the middle of a rope.
Alpine Butterfly Bend:
Usage: Secure way to connect two ropes.
Square Knot:
Usage: Quick and easy way of connecting two ropes.
Clove Hitch:
Usage: Quick way of connecting rope to an object.
Constrictor Knot:
